Deadline approaching to sign petitions protesting high credit card fees on small businesses

Aug. 10 is the deadline to let your feelings known to Congress about how high credit card interchange fees affect all of us.  (Pictured: Jessica Gobble of Virginia Beach signs a petition book at the 7-Eleven store near her office.)  7-Eleven stores in Hampton Roads have been collecting signed petitions since late June, and will soon send thousands of signatures to our representatives asking they take action against this business expense that impacts small businesses such as 7-Eleven franchisees and eventually is felt by the consumer in the form of higher prices.
